JNTU Kakinada to set up Food Technology Centre ‎

A Food Technology centre that includes regional food testing laboratory, multi-product pilot plants and state-of-the-art laboratories will be set up by the Jawaharlal Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK) in order to help students get trained, set up or operate and manage food industry individually. An M.Tech course has also been recently started by the university in food processing technology by the university and will look further to engage with various food business industries for allocating students to projects as a part of the syllabus in the course. With this, the students will get a fair knowledge on different functions of the industry such as material management, production, maintenance, marketing, finance, human resource development, research and development benefitting them in recruitment process. The Food Technology Centre to be set up by the JNTUK, Andhra Pradesh in the beginning stages will target the rice-milling and fish processing industries as priority sectors.
